Poson Poya is the day on which Mahinda Thera brought Buddhism to Sri Lanka and commemorated most of the day.  Encouraging and enlisting the work of enlightening the minds of the people, such as chanting in different places, setting up lanterns, etc., enhancing the Buddha-like joy in the minds of the people.

On the occasion of Poson Poya, the roads in Mahena were cleared of debris due to the Corona epidemic and a drainage system was set up to illuminate the village.

Minuwangoda President’s College Scout Troop 06 Senior Scouts and Minuwangoda Assistant District Commissioner Rajiv and College Scout master D.P.P.  Mr. Jothiratne and the Assistant Scout masters also participated in this project.
