Negombo Aurudu 23 was an exciting and festive event that took place on April 10th at the President’s College in Minuwangoda, marking the very first Aurudu celebration in the Negombo district. The event was organized by the President’s College Scout Group, which is a part of the Negombo District Scout Branch, and featured a wide range of Aurudu activities.

 

Several prominent figures were in attendance, including District Commissioner Mr. Romesh Rodrigo and his wife, as well as other Assistant District Commissioners. Asia Pacific Scout Regional Sub Committee Member & National Headquarters Commissioner Mr. Jerome Lakshan Perera, Negombo District Branch President Mrs. Punya Shamali, Exco Chairperson Mrs. Dayana Weerasinghe and Deputy Chairman Mr. Samudra Appuhamy were grace the occasion.

 

In addition, President’s College Principal A. Vipulasiri, Vice Principal, Assistant Principal, and the President’s College Scout Group Parents Committee participated in the event. Many other district scout sigithi, cub, scout groups, and rover crew, as well as parents, also took part in the festivities.

 

Overall, the Negombo Aurudu 23 was a wonderful celebration of the Sri Lankan New Year, bringing together members of the community from all walks of life to enjoy a day filled with fun, games, and cultural activities.
